Newsletter October 2018

On 14th October, I will again be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, on behalf of Cancer Research UK, a charity which is close to my heart.

I’m running to raise money for this important cause, on behalf of my late parents, Jack & Shirley Moss, as well as myself as a survivor after being diagnosed over 20 years ago.

Also some of my clients have died from cancer and therefore I wish to support this vital cause, to fund much needed research into this horrible disease which affects at least 1 in 3 people in the UK alone.

The 13.1 mile course takes in 4 London Parks; Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’ Park and Kensington Gardens, and passes through some of our great city’s iconic landmarks. My training is going well even though I’ll be old git huffing and puffing at the back of the 30,000 runners, but I’ll finish come what may, hopefully in about 2 and a half hours.

Some of my lovely clients have already generously donated to Cancer Research, for which I’m so grateful for every penny, thank you soooo much.

But if you haven’t already done so and would like to, it’s simple; just click on this link to take you to my Just Giving page and click on the Donate button, and follow the simple instructions. Don’t forget to add Gift Aid, so the government add 25% contribution to your donation.

BT Vs Sky TV & Broadband.

I have been a very loyal BT Broadband and telephone customer for nearly 20 years, and on the whole, I’ve been very happy with their service. My average bill from BT was about £100 per month.

I’ve also had Sky TV for about 20 years, and I’m on the top package with all sports and movie channels, costing me around £100 per month.

So my total bill from BT & Sky was around £200 each month, £2,400 per year!

I decided to ask Sky how much my bill would be if I switched my telephone and broadband from BT to Sky.

I was amazed that as a loyal Sky customer, my total bill, including extra fast unlimited broadband, upgrade to Sky Q TV (which is fantastic) is only £102 per month. That’s a saving of nearly £1,200 per year. I can’t ignore that, so I switched exclusively to Sky for everything.

I’ve got to say that despite a few initial teething problems getting connected (which turned out to be BT Openreach’s fault), I’m really happy with the service. Everything works perfectly, and I’ve found Sky technical support to be as good as BT.

So, it’s up to you but if you’re thinking of switching, then I can honestly recommend Sky, and if you need any help setting it all up please let me know.

 Autumn tune up and service.

If you haven’t already done so recently, then it’s time for your PC to have its autumn tune up and service. For a fixed fee of just £75, I’ll give your beloved computer a full 12,000 mile service which consists of decluttering it by removing all the things that could be slowing it down, also checking that your security is working properly so that you’re safe and protected, as well as making sure your valuable files, documents, pictures etc are properly backed up, in case disaster strikes. Just call or email to fix a convenient date.

Amazon Fire Tablet

How do you fancy getting an Ipad for less than £50? Well there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that you can’t, a proper Apple Ipad start from around £400 and go up to as much as £1,250

The very good news is that you can now buy the amazing Amazon Fire Tablet from £49.99 brand new.

My Kindle book reader recently died so needed to buy another one. I was going to buy another Kindle, but then I saw the Fire for the same price. Not only is it a Kindle book reader, but it does everything you would expect from a tablet. I get my emails, Google, Netflix, pictures, Spotify, BBC Iplayer etc. In other words it does everything an Ipad does, for a fraction of the cost. It even has Alexa voice control, so you can talk to it and give it instructions just using your voice… unbelievable. Don’t you just love modern technology?

OK the camera is not as good and it may be a bit slower than an Apple, but for £50 you can’t go wrong. Unlike the Ipad, it has a memory slot so you can add extra memory cards if required. That price is for the 7" tablet, but you can also by a 10" version, for £150, the Apple equivalent starts at £619!

Of course I’d be happy to come and set it all up for you.

And Finally.....

Back by popular demand, can you find the hidden image in this 3D picture. Clue, Noddy's friend!!

Let me know.

That's it for this month.
